The last two weeks have flown by and this weekend is just as packed. Well tomorrow at least.
A quick update on my weight loss progress. I have been working out at least 3 days a week and eating a lot better, So far, I have lost 9 pounds! 36 more to go! I am no down to 141. I weigh in again on Sunday, so I’ll let you know how it goes. I don’t expect it to move much though. Curiosity got the better of me mid-week, so I stepped on the scale at the gym, so that loss is already included in the 9 pounds.
*For those you unaware, I know that 141 isn’t terribly high but I stand tall at measly 4’10” so thats WAY too high for a person of that size. I am working hard to attain the proper weight for my height.
Tommorow, TJ is participating in SCAD’s Sidewalk Arts Festival. With 852 squares of chalk art, it’s quite fascinating to see. The participants make up current students, alumni, and prospective students. You walk the sidewalks of the park and on either side of you there are fantastic drawings on the ground all done with chalk. The participants have a chance to win a number of prizes with the top prize being a $1,000. It’s an all day free event with tons of stuff to do for the kids. Check out some of the artwork last year!
I just thought this one was funny!
Gross? Yes! Funny? Yes! Fantastic artwork that doesn’t even look like chalk? DEFINITELY!
Part of a group team!
So girly and cute
I know, that’s a ton of pictures, but there are so many great ones, I had a hard time narrowing it to just a few. Beware for the next post about how tomorrow goes. Since TJ is participating there will be even more pictures showing off how proud I am. LOL!
We also have family coming in to town to support TJ. He’s pretty humble about it all and is trying to act like it’s no big deal but I know he’s excited. Bring on the family, sun, chalk and fun!
New shoes!!!! I’m so excited. I’ve been needing some new shoes for forever. I can’t wait to start breaking them in.
Yesterday I went with a friend to a local high school for an Autism Walk. Her soon-to-be stepdaughter has Autism so we walked for her. We started out the walk with her but she wasn’t very into it. After about 1/2 mile she was done so she sat with her mom and me and my friend Beth finished the walk. It’s a fabulous cause and I was so glad to be apart of it.
Once the walk was over they talked about Autism and then brought all the children with Autism to the front to give them medals.
Dakota was not a fan of wearing the medal but she did think it was pretty cool.
Her favorite part of the weekend….getting in the bounce house and having us help her to the top of the slide so she could down. She was so happy and her face is priceless.
We had a great time and can’t wait to do it again next year.
But my next focus, the March for Babies Walk next weekend. Let’s go Real Housewives of the USMC!!!
Have you done any charity walks? What have you done and how did you get started with them?
Oh where to begin? An Intro isn’t really appropiate. I would just be repeating my About Me page, and that’s just silly.
Today is the day I start my health and fitness blog and continue my effort to lose the 40 pounds I really need to lose. A 40 pounds that I kind of wish I could say was baby weight but it isn’t. I was at my pre-pregnacy weight days after my daughter was born. I walked out of the hospital that Feb 2011 day in pre-pregnancy jeans. I was blessed.
But now (well should have been before now) I need to lose the weight I should have lost a long time ago. I’m making no excuses. I don’t have any. There’s no one to blame but myself and now is the time to do something about it.
We are leaving in about 45 min to meet with TJ’s sister and pick up our 6 year old. He was on Spring Break last week and went to visit TJ’s parents last week. I am ready to have him home. I sure do miss him when he’s gone.
Jordyn took her nap this morning and TJ begged me not to go to the gym before we left so he could sleep a little longer before we left. He works overnight on the weekends so he sleeps a lot during the day unless we have something to do.
I guess I’ll be heading to the gym when we get home and then need to decide on what to do for dinner tonight. I failed to think about this last night and take something out. HAHA! Such is life. LOL!!!
